2016 GAME RESULTS
Game 1 - Franklin @ GHS. The Panthers started the season opener a bit slow by giving up goals in the 7th and 20th minutes of the game, down 2 nil at halftime. The first goal of the season for Greendale came in the 77th minute on a goal by senior captain Mike Howell, from a rebound off of a free-kick. The equalizer came in the 86th minute on an outside shot for a narrow angle by Freshman midfielder Jacob Smitsdorff. Unfortunately, Franklin scored the go-ahead goal 20 seconds later, resulting in a 3 - 2 loss.
Overall: 0-1-0; Woodland: 0-0-0.
Game 2 - GHS @ Oak Creek. Second non-conference game of the year was played on the road against a very strong Knights squad. The Panther held them off until the 20th minute of the game where a goal was scored on a cross into a close range shot. The team was down 3 nil and half and never recovered. Final ended up 5 nil for Oak Creek. Overall: 0-2-0; Woodland: 0-0-0
Game 3 - West Allis Central @ GHS. Junior midfielder Michael Miksic opened up the scoring in the 3rd minute of the game to give the Panthers their first lead of the season. Senior captain Mike Howell scored two minutes later on an assist by Miksic to make it 2 nil early. Senior forward Maverick Berner added a third goal (Miksic assist) in the 8th, Howell added another in the 9th. Sophomore midfielder Conner Loeffler added another in the 17th minute, assisted by Freshman midfielder Jalen Ramirez. Three more were scored in the first half, one each by senior captain Collin Cragoe, junior Adam Crecak and Connor Loeffler. Mike Howell added another (hat trick) in the 62nd minute, to make it a 9 nil final. Sophomore goalkeeper Austin Sabba earned his first career shutout. Overall: 1-2-0; Woodland: 0-0-0
Game 4 - GHS @ Fort Atkinson. Greendale opened up the scoring in the 6th minute of the game when junior midfielder Michael Miksic was brought down inside the penalty box, a PK was converted by senior forward & captain Mike Howell. Howell added a second in the 10th minute on an assist by Miksic to make it 2 nil. The third came once again on an outside shot from Howell in the 37th minute, his 4th goal of the game came in the 40th to make it 4 nil, Panthers. Fort Atkinson scored with 2 minutes left in the half to make it a 4 to 1 halftime lead. Fort add two more goals in the middle of the second half to make things more tense, but the Panthers held on for their second non-conference victory of the week. Overall: 2-2-0; Woodland: 0-0-0
Game 5 - Kenosha Tremper @ GHS. The team started off slow, giving up the first goal to Tremper on a penalty kick off a foul inside the box at the 23rd minute mark. GHS responded less than a minute later on an outside shot by sophomore midfielder Connor Loeffler. Two more goals were added (24th & 38th minutes,) by senior captain Mike Howell to make it 3 to 1 at halftime. Howell added a third in the 73 minute after being taken down inside the box (PK) and the final goal came in the 76th minute by Adam Krecak from a cross by Michael Miksic, resulting in a 5 to 1 victory. Overall: 3-2-0; Woodland: 0-0-0
Game 6 - Nicolet @ GHS. The game started slowly for Greendale, giving up goals in the 4th, 7th and 29th minutes of the game finding themselves down 3 nil at halftime. The team gave up another in the 55th minute in a game that seemed out of reach. Junior midfielder Michael Miksic started the comeback with a goal on a shot within the box in the 71st minute (Mike Howell assist.) Scoring continued in the 81st minute on a shot scored by senior forward captain Howell (Richlen assist.) Senior captain midfielder Josh Richlen added the third on a strike from over 30 meters from the goal to put the team within one goal of equalizing the game. The game did tie up in the 87th minute on another goal by Howell. The game winner came in the last minute on a hat trick goal by Mike Howell from a beautiful cross by senior defender Chris Lechuga, resulting in an incredible comeback win, 5 to 4 Greendale! Overall: 4-2-0; Woodland: 0-0-0
Game 7 - GHS @ New Berlin Eisenhower. Greendale scored the first goal of the game on a goal by Mike Howell in the 6th minute off a free kick served by senior defender Chris Lechuga. Unfortunately, the team gave up one in the middle of the first and three more in the last 5 minutes of the half to make it 4 to 1 Eisenhower at halftime. IKE added a fifth in the second to make it a 5 to 1 loss in the first complete conference game of the year. Overall: 4-3-0; Woodland: 0-1-0
Game 8 - New Berlin West @ GHS. Scoring started early for Greendale as senior captain Mike Howell found the back of the net in the first few minutes of the game on an assist by Freshman defender Andrew Mitchell. The second was added shortly after by senior captain Josh Richlen on a cross by senior defender Chris Lechuga. The team game one up with 10 seconds remaining in the first half to make it 2 to 1. The score remained as GHS won their first conference game of the year. Overall: 5-3-0; Woodland: 1-1-0
Game 9 - Tenor Veritas @ GHS. Last non-conference of the season, scoring for Greendale opened up in the 11th minute of the game on a goal by senior captain Josh Richlen, assisted by Michael Miksic. The second came less than a minute later on a penalty kick once again by Richlen. The third of the half came from a great cross by sophomore Dylan Neumann to senior captain Mike Howell who scored on a head ball, making it three nil at half for Greendale. Senior Maverick Berner scored in the 50th (Miksic assist) and the final goal came in the 81st minute once again by Mike Howell, assisted by Freshman Taylor Knepper. Veritas scored two in the second to make it a 5 to 2 final for the Panthers. Overall: 6-3-0; Woodland: 1-1-0
Game 10 - GHS @ Cudahy/St. Francis. Greendale's Mike Howell scored the first goal of the game in the 28th minute on an assist by Michael Miksic. The second also came by Howell in the 40th minute on a break away assist pass by Josh Richlen, resulting in a 2 nil victory for the Panthers. The game was called after completing the first half due to inclement weather. Overall: 7-3-0; Woodland: 2-1-0
Game 11 - Shorewood @ GHS. Shorewood scored the first goal in the 9th minute of the game giving them a 1 nil halftime lead. They also scored the second goal in the 52nd, putting them ahead by two in the second. Greendale scored their first goal in the 56th by junior Michael Miksic. A second goal was added two minutes later by senior captain Josh Richlen, equalizing at 2 apiece. Shorewood scored the game winner in the 62nd minute making it 3 to 2 for Shorewood. Overall: 7-4-0; Woodland: 2-2-0
Game 12 - GHS @ Whitnall. Scoring opened up early in the game by Whitnall making it 1 nil at halftime. Two more were added and the Panthers found themselves down 3 nil in the second half. A goal by senior captain Mike Howell was added with 5 minutes remaining, making it a 3 to 1 final for Whitnall. Overall: 7-5-0; Woodland: 2-3-0
Game 13 - GHS @ Greenfield. Extremely wet and stormy day, the Panthers opened up scoring in the 6th minute of the game on a goal by senior captain Mike Howell. A second was added in the 14th minute by Maverick Berner from a cross by junior Michael Miksic. The game started back up at the 26:43 mark on Sept 30. The third goal of the game came by senior captain Mike Howell (Chris Lechuga assist) in the 30th minute. Junior forward Adam Krecak added to the lead scoring in the 41st minute making it 4 nil at halftime. Scoring continued in the second half on a penalty kick scored by Mike Howell in the 46th. Senior captain Josh Richlen added the 6th in the 49th on a beautiful head ball served from Michael Miksic to make it a 6 to 1 final in favor of Greendale. Overall: 8-5-0; Woodland: 3-3-0
Game 14 - GHS @ Tosa West. The first half did not turn out well for the Panthers as they gave up 5 goals in the first half. The lone goal in the second was scored by junior Jovo Skavo, resulting in a 5 to 1 loss. Overall: 8-6-0; Woodland: 3-4-0
Game 15 - GHS @ Pius Catholic. Senior captain Mike Howell opened the scoring in the 22nd minute of the game to give the Panthers a 1 nil lead at halftime. After giving up a penalty kick to Pius in the middle of the second half, junior Michael Miksic scored the winning goal in the 82nd minute on an assist by Mike Howell resulting in a 2 to 1 victory for GHS. Overall: 9-6-0; Woodland: 4-4-0
Game 16 - Pewaukee @ GHS. Both teams came out aggressively in a very hard fought defensive battle. Pewaukee owned more possession in the game. Greendale hit the post with 15 minutes remaining, the game ended scoreless.

Game 17 - Brown Deer @ GHS (senior night). Senior night for five players, Maverick Berner, Collin Cragoe, Mike Howell, Chris Lechuga and Josh Richlen. Scoring opened up in the 5th minute of the game on a close range shot from junior Michael Miksic, assisted by senior captain Mike Howell. The second goal came from Howell in the 11th minute on a head ball from a corner kick served by Michael Miksic. The final score also from Mike Howell was assisted by senior forward Maverick Berner in the 22nd minute making it 3 nil at half, which was the final score of the game. Overall: 10-6-1; Woodland: 5-4-1
Game 18 - South Milwaukee @ GHS. Last game of the year for the Panthers, the scoring opened up on a goal by senior captain Mike Howell, assisted by Michael Miksic in the 8th minute. Howell added a second in the 34th minute on a corner served by Freshman midfielder Jalen Ramirez, making it 2 nil for GHS at half. South Milwaukee scored in the 50th minute to make it closer, 2 to 1. Howell added his third in the 67th minute on a long assist by Chris Lachuga from the back. The fourth and final goal for Howell cam on a PK when junior Michael Miksic was taken down inside the box, making it a 4 to 1 final. Overall: 11-6-1; Woodland: 6-4-1
Game 19 - Whitnall @ GHS. First round of the WIAA regional semi-final game, the Panthers opened up the scoring in the first 25 seconds of the game on a wide outside shot (outside the penalty box,) from senior Maverick Berner to take the early lead of the game. The second goal came from senior captain Mike Howell in the 22nd minute making it two nil midway through the first half. Whitnall made it close with a goal in the 33rd minute, but Howell added two more, one in the 35th and 36th minutes of the game (hat trick, 34 goals on the season,) making it 4 to 1 at half. The fifth goal came in the 53rd minute by senior captain Josh Richlen on a cross from Adam Krecak, resulting in a 5 to 1 victory for Greendale. Overall: 12-6-1; Woodland: 6-4-1
Game 20 - GHS @ Waukesha West. Regional final game against number one seeded Waukesha West, the Panthers held the game scoreless in the first half. Unfortunately, the first goal of the game was scored within a minute into the second. Two more were added shortly after, followed by another near the end resulting in a 4 nil loss which ended the season.
